Textile waterproofing agents are chemicals or treatments applied to fabrics to prevent water penetration while maintaining the material's appearance, flexibility, and, in many cases, breathability. They are widely used in outdoor clothing, tents, upholstery, technical textiles, automotive fabrics, footwear, and protective workwear.
How textile waterproofing works
There are two primary approaches:
Water-repellent finishes (DWR – Durable Water Repellent)
Cause water to bead up and roll off the fabric surface.
